LAM 38 Lateral Adjustment Module

LAM38 Lateral Adjustment Module

Introduction
Lateral adjustment module LAM38 is intended to interconnect ‘LPG’ large optical piping with
the CFF38 coarse/fine focusing head, and to provide a means of fine lateral adjustment for the
CFF38 head. The LPG piping should be rigidly mounted. Lateral adjustment of the male output
mounting thread of the LAM38 unit is by means of four contra-opposed screws with perforated
heads suited to fine adjustment by means of a tommy-bar (lever). The output thread cannot tilt,
but can rotate, if the adjusting screws are loose. The LAM38 unit accepts an LAX38 crosswire
for setting-up purposes.
Technical specifications
Dimensions : See Figure 72.41
Construction : Aluminium HE30 body, black anodised, with debrin pressure
ring; ‘O’ ring and brass adjustment screws.
Lateral adjustment : +/- 3mm X and Y
Tilt : No
Rotation : Yes, unless adjustment screws are tightened.
Clear aperture : 44mm diameter
Associated equipment
Affix to LPG piping (Section 61.0)
Use to centre:
LAX38 crosswire (setting-up) (Section 64.1)
CFF38 coarse/fine focus unit (Section 63.3)
Note: The LAX38 crosswire may be used in conjunction with LAM38 to centre the laser beam
to the output thread of the lateral adjustment module. Optionally a LTX38 crosswire, M15 cell
type, may be used at the output of the CFF38 focusing head.
